The number one reason someone will not switch forklift service providers is they believe they are under a contract with their current provider. Well, this is a lie, and the company uses it to their advantage. The fact is, if you own the equipment, it is up to you who you use for service.
Any said contract with a forklift company is a verbal contract and is non-binding. They simply want you to notify them with a thirty-day notice that you will no longer be using their services. This gives them the opportunity to renegotiate and try to keep you as a customer.
One way to look at this is, why are they not willing to negotiate before you start looking at other options?
